n 1: a line of text serving to indicate what the passage below it

is about; "the heading seemed to have little to do with

2: the direction or path along which something moves or along

which it lies [syn: {bearing}, {aim}]

3: (mining) a horizontal (or nearly horizontal) passageway in a

mine; "they dug a drift parallel with the vein" [syn: {drift},

{gallery}]

leading

/ledding/ The spacing between lines of {text}. This is

defined when a {font} is designed but can often be altered in

order to change the appearance of the text or for special

effects. It is measured in {points} and is normally 120% of

the height of the text.
